The Project SCIM software warns me "You are now bypassing the server for this chat." What does this mean?
Answer: When you first make contact with a friend on the Project
SCIM network, all communication is initially done via the server. Your
Project SCIM software does the encryption, the message stays encrypted
as it passes through the server, then it goes to your contact who is
then able to decrypt your message seemlessly.
In order to enhance your communication, the server can be
bypassed completely. Any message you send to your contact goes straight
to their computer (this is called Peer to Peer).
By bypassing the server your communications should be on average 200%
faster.
